ABSTRACTS / PROPOSALS
Delegates are welcome to submit proposals for parallel sessions and free communications (oral presentations and posters).
Different kinds of proposals are available. Within the first deadline, delegates con submit a proposal for one of the following sessions:
Parallel Symposia: These are 90 minutes sessions which involve 4 speakers with presentations on a common topic. In the proposal it is necessary to indicate data about the speakers, chairman and cochairman, title of the session and a brief description of the session. If the session is accepted, presenters will be asked to send an abstract for each presentation. Duration of each presentation is between 15 and 20 minutes with a brief time left for discussion with the audience.
Workshops: These are 90 minutes sessions, which involve a maximum number of 4 speakers. These sessions are characterised by brief presentations and high interactivity with participants. In the proposal it is necessary to indicate data about the speakers, chairman and cochairman, title of the session and a brief description of the session.
Courses: Courses can be proposed by delegates. A maximum number of two presenters is allowed in each course. The duration of the course has to be agreed with the Scientific Committee. Proposals for courses in languages other than english will be taken into consideration. Please explain the purpose of the course and its organization in the description of the session. Course proposers will be contacted by the scientific committee in order to define the details of the event.
Free Communications: Submission of presentations in the form of oral communications and posters is welcome. These can be submitted directly in form of abstract at the second deadline (April 30th, 2010). The type of presentation (Oral, Poster) and the organization in sessions will be decided by the scientific committee.
Each submitted proposal/abstract should be associated with one of the following topics. It will be possible to select up to three different topics relevant to the proposal: “Transcultural Factors", "Suicide in the developing world", "Epidemiology", "Risk and protective factors", "Gender related factors and sexual orientation", "Interdisciplinary Approaches", "Postvention and survivors", "Access to means", "Psychopharmacology", "Psychotherapy", "Preventive Interventions", "Information and Communication Technology", "Genetics and Neurobiology", "Models and theories of Suicidal Behaviour", "High risk groups", "Violence and Suicide", "Knowledge Translation", "Suicide, Arts and Literature".
